The upgrade package for 2С6М1 Tunguska accounts forboth weapon systems and tracked chassis. The weapon system upgrade hasincreased the firing rage from 8 to 10 km, has enhanced the combat efficiencyof the self-propelled air defence system against the massive air raids as wellas enhanced its jamming resistance. Moreover the upgrade package enables thesystem to engage with missiles the targets having powerful optical jammingequipment. It also facilitates semi-automatic target tracking with the opticalsight and enhances tracking accuracy at a time.
Upgrade of the tracked chassis is aimed at enhancingoperation and maintenance characteristics for vehicle 2С6М1; increasing targetengagement probability in movement; enabling vehicle 2С6М1 for combat operationat altitude 3000 m; providing operation of vehicle 2С6М1 within the wholer.p.m. range of the propulsion engine; increasing road wheel capacity andendurance; reducing maintenance time.
